Seen this? This is freakin' cool. A group of Cubans converted a 1959 Buick into a boat that they tried to sail to Florida in. They attached empty drums to the side of the car to keep it afloat and put a propeller on the driveshaft to move the car-boat. And the thing is, this isn't the first time they've done this -- the first attempt was made using a 1951 Chevy pickup, but they were caught by the Coast Guard and returned to Cuba. For God's sake, don't you think these people deserve to make it? We have so little here in the way of original ideas and creativity that I think these people should be instantly brought to Hollywood and installed as TV and movie executives. How many reality TV shows do we need? And yesterday's L.A. Times ran an article saying that barely a third of all the movies slated for release this year are original scripts -- most are remakes or adaptations. Whatever happened to good old-fashioned American ingenuity? Apparently, it snuck away to Cuba and is trying to escape back to the U.S.
